Beginning Band

No experience necessary! For beginners 4th grade or older Group lessons and 1/2 hour band rehersals on Mondays Christmas and Spring Concerts, plus Schmitt Music Band Festival.

Concert Band

For students who have played a band instrument for one year+, or have finished at least one lesson book. This band has group lessons and 1/2 hour band rehersals on Mondays. Concert band practices music for Christmas and Spring Concerts, Schmitt Music Band Festival, and Honor Band. No audition is necessary.

Advanced Band

Attendance by audition only. In order to qualify, students must know at least six major and six minor scales. They must know full range chromatic scale, up and down, eighth note speed. Percussion students must know all percussion rudiments. Students are expected to work independently on music and assignments. Advanced band plays highschool level band music. One hour band rehearsals take place on Monday afternoon at 2:40 PM. Christmas and Spring Concerts, Community Outreach Concerts, Spring Tour, Schmitt Music's Solo and wind Ensemble Contest, and Honor Band are some of the events we participate in.

Contact Mr. Bissonett for audition materials and time.

Woodwinds and brass: Full Range chromatic scale, sixteenth note speed. Be prepared to perform any major or minor scale, perform a solo, and sight-read.

Percussion:Entire percussion rudiments, selected bell scales. Perform mallet solo, snare drum solo, sight-read.
